About Us

Lucas Cwmbran AFC was formed in 1946 and are a founding club of the Gwent County Football League. The club play football out of the Lucas Girling Sports Ground, Northfields, off Edlogan Way, Cwmbran and utilise Goode’s Fitness for social events and their club house. The club is affiliated with the Welsh and Gwent FA’s and operate three senior teams with the 1st team playing Gwent County Division 2 football, the reserves play in the Newport and District Premier Y and we have a 3rd team playing in N&D Division 3. Lucas Cwmbran have secured sponsorship from a number of companies, the main first team sponsors are Newconn and Allans Group, we have also received sponsorship from Cambridge Plan, Emlyn Canvas and Jodan Contracts to name a few.

The club is 1 year into a 5 year development plan; to date we have restructured our Executive and Management Committee so that we now have the back room team needed to drive the club forward. We have inaugurated a Junior Section with an Under 8’s team entering into the Torfaen Junior League in February this year, plans are in place to develop and increase the junior membership to include all age ranges from U7 to U16 over the next 12 months. We are also re-instating our youth development U18 team for the 2015/16 season.

Are you the right person to join our team?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing person who is efficient and can work independently and also as part of a coaching and team management group. The manager we are looking for must be hard working and display excellent communication skills.

All applicants must have as a minimum: -

F.A.W. Level C Coaching qualification.

Hold an up to date First Aid qualification.

Further training will be provided and we also offer opportunities to gain additional recognised F.A.W. qualifications.

Previous experience of coaching/managing Gwent County Level football is desired but not essential.

Job specification

The main duties for this position include:

• To manage all aspects of the football team.

• To arrange a pool of players.

• To liaise with players to arrange coaching / training sessions.

• To plan and prepare progressive session plans

• To liaise with players to arrange matches

• Setting up and packing down sports equipment

• Complete weekly match reports and notify league of home fixture results

• To record attendance at club activities.

• Have the final say on the selection of players for matches subject to player eligibility.

• To liaise with the players and coaches on arrangements for travel to club activities.

• Keep themselves and the coaches informed of all development activities

• To liaise with the club committee on all requirements for equipment and/or kit

• To ensure that there is first aid cover and a first aid kit during all club activities plus access to a telephone

• To give progress reports to the committee when requested

• To be familiar with the Club Code of Conduct and enforce it when appropriate

• Liaise with other Team Managers to ensure that good players get their chance to perform at the highest level possible.

• Maintaining our Health and Safety standards

• To attend First Aid and Health and Safety re-cap workshops

• To attend compulsory club training days

Newport Corinthians Football Club is currently looking to recruit a senior management team that will oversee the clubs first team. The first team currently plays within Gwent County Division 1.

As a club we have recently been through an excellent period under the outgoing manger and we would like to appoint an enthusiastic management team that can continue with this success both on and off the field.
